#7 Szeged: In My Lovely Garden the Flowers Are Nodding

This week was hot, like actually, it was really hot outside. Hopeful it is just a phase. The heat made it difficult to get people to stop and talk to us outside. We didn't find anyone new in our streeting or tracting but we still had some good teaching teaching this week.

We had a super cool miracle on Sunday, a self referral just came to church, and we are meeting next week after priesthood meeting. We also gave him a branch house tour, and showed him the baptismal font, and he asked us "so if someone wants to join this church, how does that work." I hope our lesson with him next week will go really well.

We also had a really great lesson with a man that was referred to us from the branch president. We did a 30/30 lesson with him. We taught him the restoration, and although he seemed skeptical, he said he would read out of the book of Mormon and we are going to meet with him again this coming Friday. We met with some other investigators, its slow going, but we are going to keep being patient, hopefully they will gain a desire to come to church.

We are doing really well with our 3 member plan, and trying to contact or track down as many returning members as possible. Something that has worked really well with us so far is we have met with 3 different branch leaders and gone through the member list so we would know who to focus on, and how we should go about contacting people. Its helped a lot.

We have been working with Pál a lot recently, and this past week we talked with him about preparing to receive the Melchizedek priesthood, he is also helping us with English connect. He has made a lot of progress. For the most part the 4 people on our 3 member plan are young adults. Szeged has a good number of them on the list, but a lot of them don't come to church. We need more of them. All in all I think it is coming along nicely.

We went to Piroska house to help her in her garden. She is a flower woman and sells flowers in the market. She has a beautiful and very large garden with mostly flowers, but she has some vegetables and fruit trees too. It was really neat to spend some time working with her in her garden. It is so nice to be around her because she is super happy, she just shines since her baptism. It's SUPER cool.

This week, I have been getting close to the end of the Book of Mormon again. This means that I was able to read Moroni 8:25-26 which are my favorite scriptures about the doctrine of Christ. I love how it just sums up and ties in all of the parts, specifically that the "first fruit of repentance is baptism" it says:

"And the first fruits of repentance is baptism; and baptism cometh by faith unto the fulfilling the commandments; and the fulfilling the commandments bringeth remission of sins; And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God." that is the goal of the Mission of Christ, that all the saints shall dwell with God. This is his work, its also mine.
