#12 Debrecen: A New Assignment

Image
For P-day, on Monday, we went to Hortobagy and went whipping. (Here are some pictures, cool place, fun time) On Tuesday we started with an awesome daily exchange with the Nyíregyháza elders in Debrecen. I worked with Elder Hudson on bearing testimony and finding hope in missionary work. I was really great, and we even found a new investigator. -- Then I went home -- And while I was getting ready for Zone Conference the next day, before I went to bed, I got a text from President Hettinger that said, "Elder Morgan, can I call you in 20 minutes?" So I laid on the couch and stared at my phone for 20 minutes and then I picked up the phone and President Hettinger told me that he wanted me to come to Buda tomorrow, which I replied, "I am coming to Buda tomorrow, I have Zone Conference." He said, "No, I want you to pack up all your stuff and move to Buda tomorrow because Elder Burnett is leaving the office and we want you to be one of the office Elders as

#11 Debrecen: All the Good Things in Missionary Work

We had another blessed week full of miracles, lots of time for finding, all the good things in missionary work. On Wednesday we had a lesson with one of our investigators named Kem, he is an older gentleman from England. Kem is super lonely so when we teach him we stay longer and just talk to him. After that we had about an hour left of the day before dinner and decided to just finish tracting the rest of his street. We had an older woman set up to meet with us later, a thirty something man said we could come back, but then we had a man named Csaba let us in. Getting a let in is super rare. We taught the restoration lesson and shared the Book of Mormon with him and his wife (Erika), and father. They were interested and we set up another time to return. They also have 2 teen aged children. It was a great experience. I love finding families, it's why I love tracking. We also got a member referral this week from one of the families in the branch. His name is Máttyás, he is boyfr

Winter has come and just in time for December and Christmas. We had several of the people we teach stand us up this week, end of term exams and sickness, it was pretty rough, but we also had some success finding new people to teach this week. It was great, we found six new people to teach. Two of them are a mother and daughter that were referred to us by the Branch President and we will be meeting with them tomorrow. So we are hoping some of them make progress. We also had some awesome exchanges with the AP's (Assistants to the Mission President) in Buda. I went out with Elder McCann from Australia, who was a body builder before his mission, so he's a really big guy. That night we hung out with the mission secretaries, Elder Udy and Elder Burnett, while the AP's did an interview with the press for an article on the church. Elder Burnett and I went to a lesson together with a member and her non-member husband. I really liked Elder Burnett. He'll go home at the same
