#14 Buda: I Miss America

Image
This is my "I Miss America" Photo. Me hugging Ronald Reagan. That's all I'm going to write about that! This week was pretty typical of the office. We went tracking, streeting and did office work. We did meet with some of our regular people but unfortunately most of them have kind of stalled. We need to get some fresh bread, ours is getting stale. We had some cool streeting though, we had twenty minutes the other day and found a new person to teach, took two phone numbers and had four good conversations, it was crazy. An older woman and her grandson let us in on Saturday when we went tracting. “Let-ins” are the best! They are like a favorite candy bar, you don’t eat it a lot, but it’s always amazing. We shared with them the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, they seemed kind of interested, hopefully next weekend we can meet with them again. The last couple zoom calls for district leaders and our zone have gotten me really excited. Elder Barton and I a

The Transfer is over! We got new missionaries! On Tuesday 9 new sisters and 4 new elders arrived. One of the elders was from the Marriottsville ward in the Columbia Maryland stake, Elder Running, that was kind of interesting. He told me that recently President Mitchell was released and that President Lund is now the stake president. I thought that was pretty cool, sense Brother Lund was one of my FAVORITE young men's leaders. -- On Wednesday, we took Sister Smith, Robertson, and Lewis to the airport because they were going home! Those are the sisters who were in the MTC with me and now they are going home! Now with transfer's are done everything is settling back into normal. Elder Smith is the new assistant, which is great because we love Elder Smith... and now it's just me and Elder Barton in our apartment and it's going to be a great transfer. Most of this week was a blur, but on the whole not to bad. Update on me being sick, after three weeks of painful coughi

#12 Buda: New Elders in the Office

This week we got ready for the transfer. With love Elder Morgan............... Jk, It was a pretty good week, having Elder Barton in the office (and as my new companion) is going to be great! I'm really looking forward to this next transfer. Elder Barton is from Kaysville. I was his zone leader in Debrecen so I have been on splits with him several times. Elder Smith is the new Assistant, so that is cool because I like Elder Smith. We have been working hard to get him prepared for Elder Udy's exit. I'm proud to say that every thing should be ready for this next week. Elder Barton joined us on Wednesday for training. Thursday we also had two Romanian Elders with us who came to Budapest for an appointment with the President. They stayed with us for the night. So we had LOTS of Elders in our meetings this week and at English class. This week we found a couple new people to teach, some of them stood us up, but said they would be willing to meet with us again. We had a lit

I've been pretty sick this week, again, I've had a couple different colds over the last several weeks. The one I have now is really really really mean! Because I am a missionary I don't have very much time to rest so I haven't gotten much better. Today I'm going to call my mom and complain to her about being sick, just kidding. All the senior couples in the office are giving me suggestions to help me get better which is kind of interesting. (Ted was drinking a fresh ginger root tea when we were on our video call with him, apparently one of the suggestions of the senior couples.) Despite being sick, this week was pretty awesome! We had an exchange with the Zone leaders in Dunaújváros this week. Elder Jameson and I worked on companionship unity and teaching lesson 4. We found a few new investigators, and taught a returning member the word of wisdom. It was probably the best day of my year so far, mainly because Elder Jameson is awesome, and I got to be outside doi
