#5 Szeged: Christ Weeps for Us

This week was the busiest week of 2019 so far. We had 12 lessons, a few more that fell through, found five new investigators, it was crazy, but awesome. We spent a lot of time getting Piroska all set for her interview on Saturday, which was successful. She is getting baptized this Saturday at 4pm, and everyone is very excited. I hope it goes well.

We were able to meet with Áron actually 2 times now. He has liked the 30/30, but especially the gospel portion. He is little eccentric and boisterous, but very kind, and was just eating up the restoration lesson. I hope its because he is prepared for our message, but I worry he might be that way because of the effects of alcohol, but we will deal with that as it comes, for now, it's going well.

We also had a lesson with József and brought a member with us, it was difficult, he told us that it was going to be his last lesson with us, but he said he would read the Book of Mormon all the way this month, and get back to us in July... so we kind of got dropped... it was kind of sad, but I still have hope.

We had two lessons with Pál this week. We shared with him the talk from President Nelson "The Sabbath is a Delight." We had a good conversation about how the sabbath is for man, and not man for the sabbath. The great part was that he came to church! We also had dinner with him and just bore our testimonies about our Father in Heaven. We were able to share experiences that we have had, and the spirit was very strong. I could tell that in touched him. He also met with the branch president this week, he is making good progress. Besides these we were all over the place, it was great.

As I've been reading the Book of Mormon this week, I have been lucky to read about the Savior's ministry the Americas. It is my favorite part. This time I was touched not by what the savior said, but what he did, his actions, his emotions. In 3 Nephi, chapter 17 he concluded teaching "what the Father had commanded him" and directed those that were there to go home and prepare for tomorrow.

"And it came to pass that when Jesus had thus spoken, he cast his eyes round about again on the multitude, and beheld they were in tears, and did look steadfastly upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them. And he said unto them: Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion towards you." v. 5-6. And then he blessed them, their sick, their children, he gave them the sacrament, he blessed their souls. "And they arose from the earth, and he said unto them: Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full. And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them. And when he had done this he wept again" v. 20-22.

I wonder if Christ weeps in joy over us, or if his joy is full, when we do his will today, because of our faith. It touched me that Christ didn't just weep for us in the garden, but he weeps because of us each day, because we are those that the Father has given him.
