#19 Buda: Szeged, here I come!!!

Well, its over, I finished the office life. Elder Williamson is all trained up, and I look forward to being in Szeged tomorrow. I've always wanted to serve in Szeged ever since my first transfer. Szeged is the 3rd largest city in Hungary. It is in the far south east of Hungary about 110 miles from Budapest, close to the Serbian boarder. It will be good to get some fresh air, and just be outside doing missionary work all day. There will be some things that I will miss about Buda, but on the whole, I'm ready for change.

This week we were only able to meet with our part member family. It was hard to say good bye. We taught their boys about faith, repentance and baptism, it was a really good lesson, they were very sharp. I hope that Elder Barton and Williamson can up them on a baptismal date soon.

We had time for tracting this week. It wasn't horrible, we got a few phone numbers, and this coming week we will be trying to set up and return to teach them the gospel. Other than that we spent our time planing for the transfer, and I taught Elder Williamson all of the things that he needs to be successful in the office, I hope that the transition is smooth for him.

This week's stake conference was wonderful, it was a great opportunity to see members from my old areas, I even got to say hello to President Szabadkai! My favorite part was President Southwick's talk about the new temple announcement. He made it very clear that while it is being built in Hungary, its not a Hungarian temple, its the Lords temple and this stake in Hungary will be stewards to a temple that well serve people all around central Europe. With that, he talked about what a privilege and blessing from the lord that the people of Hungary are being entrusted with a house of the Lord, and about what we need to do to prepare, keep covenants, pay tithing, build faith, become lastingly converted. Brick by brick, tégláról téglára. This is the same in our own lives, we need to build ourselves everyday, brick by brick, and if we stumble or our brick shift a little, its okay, we correct the error and rebuild what has been lost. It takes time to repair, but we must never give up.

Sok szeretettel, Morgan elder

From Sister Russell:

Hungary is pretty excited about the announcement of the temple. Those who attended Stake conference were asked to take two sheets of colored paper that were provided…and record the feelings of our impressions of the announcement of the temple and what we are going to do to prepare on one…. And deposit it in a box that will be mailed to President Nelson. The other we are to record the same thing but keep the paper as a reminder of the impressions we received. It will be an exciting gift for President Nelson.!!! We are also asked to participate in a special Countrywide fast to thank Heavenly Father for this long-awaited blessing. It has been such an amazing time here in Hungary.
