#12 Szeged: Short and Sweet... but be home soon

This week was fantastic! We got the 3rd member of our companionship this week. Elder Emang is so cool, I love him, I almost wish that I wasn't leaving two weeks into the transfer.


This week we had a good number of lessons, the Saturday branch activity, and one of our investigators came to church. Tuesday was also my "last day" as in I had my final interview, self reliance, dinner and testimony meeting. It was really great, I was able to get spend time with Elders Katics, Burnett, and Spencer.



Its really strange to be in the post "last day of my mission phase" and pre-going to airport part of my mission. It all feels really real, and strange, and It makes me sad and happy all at the same time. I don't know.

We taught a good number of lessons, had one investigator in church, and the branch party was awesome. We had a really good lesson with one of our investigators, and we brought two members. It was really good. We talked about how to build our faith and read out of Alma 32. He came to church! We also had some really good lessons with returning members. We are starting to remember that members are really helpful in lessons, lol! We also did some service for one of our recent converts. 

This week I read out of 1 Nefi 17 about boat building. I was reminded of Elder Montoya's quote from the last zone conference: "Where is boat? Boat takes time." It takes time for conversion, it takes time for change, it takes time for us to build our spiritual boats. Just a thought.

I've been pretty sick this week, again, I've had a couple different colds over the last several weeks. The one I have now is really really really mean! Because I am a missionary I don't have very much time to rest so I haven't gotten much better. Today I'm going to call my mom and complain to her about being sick, just kidding. All the senior couples in the office are giving me suggestions to help me get better which is kind of interesting. (Ted was drinking a fresh ginger root tea when we were on our video call with him, apparently one of the suggestions of the senior couples.) Despite being sick, this week was pretty awesome! We had an exchange with the Zone leaders in Dunaújváros this week. Elder Jameson and I worked on companionship unity and teaching lesson 4. We found a few new investigators, and taught a returning member the word of wisdom. #2 Pest: Lo Kolbász! (horse sausage)

Horse Sausage Yup, I bought horse sausage today! Welcome to Hungary. We did get food poisoning this week, but not from the horse sausage. We were poisoned after eating a meal we ate at a new members home this week. Fun times! It’s all part of missionary work. We ran out of food yesterday, so I dipped into my food supply from my care package and we made the Bear Creek Jambalaya from my last care package and we LOVED it. We definitely want more of that kind of thing in the next care package. I'm doing good, but it's been a crazy week, we have been just working and talking to people like crazy. It's been a little frustrating because tones of people have been "dogging" our appointments but its okay because it's just part of missionary work! Speaking of a missionary work...
