#5 Nyíregyháza: MOVING AGAIN
Okay, like I said before this transfer was a special 5 week transfer, so today we got our calls with our new assignments, and somehow I'm moving again!! Yes, I'll be going back to Budapest, specifically back to Pest where I was just 5 weeks ago! Well, I have to say that the call to return to Pest was certainly a surprise, but seeing how I love Pest and I was sad to leave after only 2 months, I'm very excited to go back!! This time I'll be serving with Elder Surdu from Canada and I will serve as the Zone Leader. I'm also looking forward to being with Surdu Elder. I feel humbled to be called as a Zone Leader but I hope that with the Lord's help I can do what he needs me to do. Despite being nervous about serving as Zone Leader, I think this is probably the most excited I've been for transfers. Sure, I have to move again, and I'm intimidated at the call to be zone leader, but I'll be back in Pest which is awesome, and I'll be with Elder Surdu, which is a dream come true! It's going to be awesome!!!
This week was full and it's crazy how fast it flew by. I went on splits with Elder Hess (a snowboarder from Utah) and Elder Garrett and we also went to Miskolc for interviews with our Mission President on Wednesday. Interviews were really great! I absolutely love my mission president. He is amazing.
I also held two splits this week. First with Elder Hess on Tuesday and Wednesday. I talked with him about talking with everyone and teaching while finding. We had a wonderful lesson with our investigator Zoltán. We taught him the restoration lesson, and he said that he would read the Book of Mormon, and pray about it. He said that if he gets an answer to his prayers that he would be willing to be baptized. It was fantastic. I really hope that he will continue to act in faith. We also met with László and we reviewed the Gospel of Christ with him and talked about how the next step he needs to take is baptism, and we gave him a date for September 8th, this week we will follow up and see if he accepts. We taught also taught Tibor, and we reviewed the law of chastity, it was a little awkward but in the end we focused on turning our thoughts to the savior in times of temptation and weakness. We looked up and talked with a few less active members of the branch, trackted a building, and we did some white boarding. So we did good work.
The second split happened on Friday and Saturday with Elder Garrett (from Vernal Utah). We focused on how the gospel blesses families and how to rely on the Spirit while teaching. We met with László and they are both doing well. Elder Garrett and I made goals for after his mission to help adjust to RM life. He is awesome.
District meeting we reviewed working with members and brainstormed ideas for how we can be more creative with the members. We were in Debrecen and so the meeting focused on how we can help them in their work, since the branch in Debrecen is quite difficult. I hope that they can find ways to improve the relationship with them, but its been that way for years.
That sums up my week, but today I keep thinking about how crazy my life has been this last year... actually in less than a year I've now lived in Provo (2 months), Kecskemét (4 months) , Kispest (2 months) , Pest (2 months) , Nyíregyháza (1 month), and now Pest again. I hope that the Lord will help me with this new assignment as a Zone Leader, I'm going to need it.
I love you all, I hope you have a great week with school, work and everything else. Thank you for your love, prayers and support.
