#14 Kecskemét: I love being a missionary!!

This week was my 5 month anniversary of being a missionary! This was another week of travel. On Tuesday we went on splits in Szeged. I love Szeged, it is absolutely beautiful, and I like the bigger more urban feel. Elder Biesinger and I had two lessons which was awesome! One of them I shared a scripture and the lady cried, good tears, it was a new experience for my mission. She then gave us 10 kilos of apples, they were the best apples I've had in Hungary. We also had a lesson with one of their investigators, about how precious the gospel is in our lives. I shared with her the parable of the pearl of great price. We also talked about Lehi's dream. It was fun. We went to the lesson with Robi, an awesome member in Szeged that I met last time at their branch Christmas activity. We had lunch at Burger King, and It was so good, but we ate way to much. Robi was astonished at how much American boys can eat and how big the hamburgers were. #10 Kecskemét: A New Companion

This week was the end of my first transfer in Hungary, and the beginning of my second. **Usually LDS missionaries get transferred, moved or paired with new companions, every 6 weeks throughout their missions, but in the Hungarian mission we are transferred every 9 weeks to coincide with the 9 week MTC (mission training center) training schedule. Wednesday, we went up to the mission home in Budapest to go to the transfer meeting. It was cool to see almost all of the missionaries in the mission all in one place. I got to meet Elder Stringham who was my trainers trainer, meaning Elder Martin's trainer. Elder Stringham is my grandfather, which is the funny mission way of saying my trainers trainer. Elder Stringham returned home after transfers this week, so he is home now and I hope he is doing well. #4 Nyíregyháza: Debrecen is a Cool City

This week sort of flew by. The miracle of this week was for sure our lesson with Zoltán. He became a new investigator last week, but this week we had our first real lesson with him. We did a lot of good and taught him about the Book of Mormon and how to get a testimony of spiritual things. He is a very religious man and he said that he is a real truth seeker and wants to know if what we have is true. At the end of the lesson he was asking us about how to repent because he said that it’s hard to learn about it in the bible. We told him that he will find answers to his questions, as he reads the Book of Mormon, prays, meets with us and comes to church. I hope tomorrow’s lesson goes well. A lot of our investigator lessons fell through this week, so we did a lot of look ups and meeting with members. We shared messages about how we can use the blessings of the gospel in our lives to invite people to partake of the fruits of the gospel. I guess you could say it was the “come and see” ...
