#12 Debrecen: A New Assignment

Image
For P-day, on Monday, we went to Hortobagy and went whipping. (Here are some pictures, cool place, fun time) On Tuesday we started with an awesome daily exchange with the Nyíregyháza elders in Debrecen. I worked with Elder Hudson on bearing testimony and finding hope in missionary work. I was really great, and we even found a new investigator. -- Then I went home -- And while I was getting ready for Zone Conference the next day, before I went to bed, I got a text from President Hettinger that said, "Elder Morgan, can I call you in 20 minutes?" So I laid on the couch and stared at my phone for 20 minutes and then I picked up the phone and President Hettinger told me that he wanted me to come to Buda tomorrow, which I replied, "I am coming to Buda tomorrow, I have Zone Conference." He said, "No, I want you to pack up all your stuff and move to Buda tomorrow because Elder Burnett is leaving the office and we want you to be one of the office Elders as...

This week sort of flew by. The miracle of this week was for sure our lesson with Zoltán. He became a new investigator last week, but this week we had our first real lesson with him. We did a lot of good and taught him about the Book of Mormon and how to get a testimony of spiritual things. A lot of our investigator lessons fell through this week, so we did a lot of look ups and meeting with members. We shared messages about how we can use the blessings of the gospel in our lives to invite people to partake of the fruits of the gospel. I guess you could say it was the “come and see” ...

#4 Szeged: Build Your Foundation on the ROCK

This week flew by. Zone Conference was fantastic. The Spirit was strong, and I loved the testimony meeting that we had on Gellért hegy. The upcoming introduction of smart phones will change a lot. I've already seen circumstances in our work this week, that could be improved by having technology. It will be exciting. We had a fantastic lesson with József this week, and talked about the plan of salvation. It was amazing. It is so cool to see people connect with the scriptures. He just kept saying, "Wow, this scripture makes so much sense! It just answers questions that the Bible can't." We are continuing to help prepare Piroska for her baptismal interview this coming Saturday. The branch has been very helpful and supportive. We had a couple lessons with returning members and a lot of successful look-ups. Hopefully we will be able to meet with more returning members in the coming weeks. It was kind of a difficult week, but Saturday was full of miracles and eve...
